A Peoria man, awaiting sentencing for a 2005 shooting incident, was indicted Tuesday in another case. Shone Jones, who was convicted of several charges from the 2005 incident, is accused of
groping a female officer at the Peoria County jail. Jones will be arraigned on a charge of aggravated
battery to a police officer on the same day he is sentenced on the shooting case. Jones was
convicted of firing three shots into a motel room wall over the heads of others in the room when he
became agitated. Twice before, his convictions for this crime were overturned on appeal.
