PEORIA- Tuesday's slushy road conditions affected voter turnout in the municipal election.
Tuesday was primary voting in Peoria's first and fifth districts. Voter turn out was underwhelming at the polling station at Manual High School.
Among the 13 voters it saw by mid-morning, four of the votes had been cast by the election judges.
One of the judges, Ruth Benerenti, said this isn't unusual.
"Primaries are not big usually, but this is the smallest, slowest I've seen," she said.
In the first district, current at-large city Councilman Gary Sandberg faces off against Denise Moore and Randall Emert.
Current fifth district Councilman Dan Irving faces Casey Johnson and write-in, Dan Adler.
