Peoria Komatsu to lay off workers

PEORIA- WMBD 31 News has learned Komatsu of Peoria is planning future layoffs.
The company tells us it can't say how many employees will be affected until telling the union.
It says layoffs will be spread out over several weeks and can't say how long they'll last.
Komatsu will tell the union weekly how many employees will be impacted.
It's because demand for Komatsu mining eqiupment has dropped.
Komatsu says customers have canceled or postponed orders.
An official announcement from Komatsu will come in a few days.
The employees could be called back.
