The city is proposing a plan to
convert Adams and Jefferson into two-way streets.
The city council agenda said
converting two-way streets will stimulate business growth and increase the
livelihood of downtown.
Some people who could be affected by
the change said it's a good idea.
Hal Hasse said, "Well it'd be easier
to get around places now you don't always have to go down four blocks to come
back to where you want to go. I just feel it'd be a much easier way to
go."
Steve Pfaffman said, "I just think
it'd make traffic flow better and easier to get places."
UFS Co-Owner Tom Wiegand said, "Retail
is not going to come into this part of town unless you can slow the traffic
down and two way streets anyone knows, everyone knows, two way streets will
create more traffic for retailers."
Council approved the plan unanimously.
