Water Leak Shuts Down CityLink Ticket Center

PEORIA - A
water leak inside Peoria's main bus hub is causing an inconvenience for some
travelers.
The ticket
office at the CityLink Transit Center is closed after an overnight sprinkler
system problem.
Officials
discovered a leak Thursday that left the ticket office walls, floor and carpet
in need of repair. So it will remain closed until Tuesday.
Many
travelers use the ticket office to buy monthly bus or punch passes and to pay
their utility bills. However, those services will not be available until the
office reopens.
"There are some other
businesses in town when people can pay their utility bills as well as the Ameren
office and the water office downtown as well. So it certainly is an inconvenience
for people who ride the buses. They can't just pay their utility bill, but
there are other options," said Anna Buehrer, CityLink representative.
Bus passes
can be purchased at the CityLink administration building during normal business
hours. Single fares can be paid to bus drivers.
The Transit
Center is still open to passengers. Only the ticket office is closed.
