Former Bloomington Employee Charged with Stealing Money

BLOOMINGTON
- A former city employee is behind bars for allegedly stealing nearly $21,000 from the
city.
Bloomington
police say Leslie J. Lebel, 35. is behind bars on charges of monetary theft.
The money was
allegedly stolen from the city of Bloomington between September 2011 and December
2011.
An
investigation started in July of last year and led police to issue a warrant
for Lebel's arrest.
Lebel, who
goes by several other names, was taken into custody Friday and sent to Rock
Island County Jail. She'll be
transferred to McLean County.
Bond is set
at $1,000,000.
