BLOOMINGTON - A former city employee is behind bars for allegedly stealing nearly $21,000 from the city.

Bloomington police say Leslie J. Lebel, 35. is behind bars on charges of monetary theft.

The money was allegedly stolen from the city of Bloomington between September 2011 and December 2011.

An investigation started in July of last year and led police to issue a warrant for Lebel's arrest.

Lebel, who goes by several other names, was taken into custody Friday and sent to Rock Island County Jail.  She'll be transferred to McLean County.

Bond is set at $1,000,000.

Comments

Your tone regarding her "several other names" is unwarranted. Other articles have pointed out her 3 last names, and as is true for many women, one is her maiden, one is her first husband's, and one is her present married name. All other things aside, there is nothing incriminating about her names.
