A Peoria Manual arts teacher, accused of enticing a minor for sex, was indicted Thursday by a Peoria federal grand jury. 28 year old Amanda Ludwig is facing a one count complaint, charging her with
using her cellphone to entice a minor. Ludwig was charged in federal court because text messages
involve the internet and interstate commerce which makes it a federal offense. Ludwig is accused
of having sex with a 15 year old student in her classroom and the alleged incident was reportedly
recorded on the student's cellphone. Ludwig, who is free on bond, remains on paid administrative
leave. No new court date has yet been set. Ludwig, if convicted , faces from ten years to life in
prison.
