PEORIA --
Leaders in Central Illinois are peaking into the future at the possibility of railway expansion.
They're looking at new transportation opportunities between Peoria and the Twin Cities.
A proposed plan would connect Peoria International Airport with Central Illinois Regional Airport in Bloomington.
The route would include additional stops in other Central Illinois cities between the two points.
The commuter system would also link to the Milwaukee-St. Louis high speed rail line.
Leaders say it would be a big addition to the region.
Other areas of possible rail expansion include areas like Galesburg and the Quad Cities to the West.
