McLean County Board members Tuesday approved a resolution opposing any state measure
which would erode local authority regarding fracking, a process of extracting oil and natural gas,
according to news partner WJBC Radio.
The board discussed fracking several times last year but put it on the backburner to avoid
being pre empted by any new regulations by the state. Fracking is currently governed by the
county. The board has yet to come to a consensus on how it stands on fracking.
