A Pekin man was indicted Tuesday for an attempted robbery in Peoria earlier this month.
23 year old Brian Cornwell, Junior is charged with trying to steal a woman's purse as she was
leaving the Peoria Civic Center. The victim's husband chased Cornwell and was able to retrieve
his wife's purse. After taking Cornwell into custody, police say they found a pink cell phone in
his possession, which police believed at the time had been taken from another victim earlier
that evening. However, Cornwell is only charged with the attempted holdup. He'll appear in court
Thursday.
