Average retail gas prices in Peoria rose sharply last week, according to a release Monday from
GasBuddy.com. Prices were up 13.4 cents per gallon in the past week and were 40.4 cents
per gallon higher than a year ago and 51.4 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. GasBuddy
senior analyst Gregg Laskoski says the steady climb of prices is likely to continue following
double digit increases in wholesale prices with fuel production tightening in the majority of the
country's refineries.
