BLOOMINGTON - The national weapons reform debate is giving a gun show in Bloomington extra attention.

Thousands attended the weekend event at the Interstate Center, to admire and even purchase a variety of guns, ammunition and knives.

The price of ammo has doubled this year, but suppliers said it hasn't hurt their sales.

In fact, many are having a hard time keeping items in stock. They said more people are buying weapons in case laws change and they can't anymore. Gun show vendor Lawrence Travis said, "Gun show attendance is up, business is up. People are very active and concerned about pending legislation. Business has been above average for the last six to eight weeks."

It's estimated more than 5,000 people attended the weekend show. Suppliers said the anticipation of concealed carry in Illinois is also driving up sales.
