PEORIA - The family of longtime Peoria County board
member, Pat Hidden, is honoring her legacy by helping kids pay for college.
The annual Pat Hidden Scholarship Fundraiser takes place this weekend at
the Itoo Hall on Farmington Road.
Hidden was a board member for more than a decade and died three years
ago. Anyone can stop by for a $10 chicken
or fish dinner, live auctions, music and more.
The scholarship has raised more than $20,000 for Peoria County students
since it started.
George Hidden, her son, says this is a way to continue her lifelong
dedication to public service by inspiring young people in the area.
"The scholarship is for anybody who goes to a
school in Peoria County. Later after the fundraiser we will contact the
application information and it's available to anyone in the public service
field of going into the public service field," he said.
The fundraiser lasts from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Itoo Hall.
