PEORIA - Peoria leaders and downtown business owners are talking about possible changes to the city's 4:00 a.m. liquor zone.

Mayor Jim Ardis said the city is working to get ahead of any potential problems that may come with more traffic that new downtown developments are expected to bring.

Mayor Ardis said it's a work in progress and he is considering everyone's ideas. He said, "I think everything is on the table right now in terms of considerations. I really don't think there is an appetite by the council or downtown community to do away with the 4 o'clock licenses. I think that, that's something those visitors will want."

Bar owners said their biggest concern is safety. Mayor Ardis said there are more discussions planned before any changes will take place.
