PEORIA- Parents at Von Steuben middle school are saying that student behavior is out of control.
The president of the school's parent teacher organization, Karen Pilgrim said there is a small group of "problem students" who are disrupting class, and escalating verbal fights to fist fights.
She said the bullying needs to end, and that teachers need to be able to dish out harsher punishments.
"My children do not have a positive learning environment with all the disruptive behavior going on in the school. The teachers are constantly disciplining or trying to or dealing with those children instead of teaching," Pilgrim said.
Pilgrim suggested that an unarmed security guard be present to break up fights.
