PEORIA - President Obama is delivering
the State of the Union Tuesday night and many are expecting him to touch on the
topic of gun control.
Tim Presley aid he's seeing a trend at
his story, Presley's Outdoors in Bartonville.
He said when the President talks, he
has more customers coming in to buy, out of fear and suspicion.
Presley said, "There is some fear in
the air that he's going to say some things that people don't want to hear. That
we're gonna ban this, ban that. "
Presley said President Obama has
shaken the gun industry since his first day in office. He said as a gun seller,
he's weathering the storm.
He said right now, the threat of
losing some weapons, like the AR-15, is making business almost too good. He
said, "You know, we just weather. All we can do is show up every day and hope
we can get more products in to sell but now the demand is very high."
The hardest thing to keep on the
shelves? Presley said it isn't guns, it's ammunition.
He said, "The supply is low, not just
here it's everywhere in the country. We can't keep up. The industry can't keep
up with the demand."
In the meantime, he said the ongoing battle surrounding gun control is something he knows won't go away. He said it's a familiar challenge he's facing. He said, "We're very numb to this whole thing what's going on. I mean it's every day, every minute every hour."
