SPRINGFIELD- The Illinois Sheriffs' Association announced the sheriffs voted unanimously NOT
to support the proposed legislation House Bill 132 that bans certain weapons. Sheriffs across
the state believe it is their responsibility and duty to uphold the constitution including the second
amendment, the news release said. The association says rational law abiding citizens aren't
causing the random acts of violence and the focus should be primarily on the lack of mental
health services in the country.
