Bloomington Mayor Names Ward 1 Replacement

Bloomington Mayor Steve Stockton announced Friday he is nominating Jamison Jamie Mathy
as the replacement alderman for the vacant Ward 1 post. If the council approves the mayor's
selection at its February 11th meeting, Mathy would be immediately sworn in and represent
the citizens of that ward at least until the voters make their own selection in April. Other
applicants for the appointment were Kevin Lower and Allen Gibson, who once held the post but
didn't run for re election in 2009. The need for the replacement was created January 25th when
Alderman Bernie Anderson resigned, citing health reasons.
