A suspected Peoria bank robber, indicted for a holdup last month, pleaded NOT GUILTY Thursday.
36 year old Clayton Keefer is accused of robbing the Peoria Community Bank on Knoxville in
late January. Though he has not been charged, Keefer remains a suspect in a bank robbery
January 22nd at the Heartland Bank on Court Street in Pekin. Police say the suspect in that
robbery passed a note to the teller demanding money. The suspect then reached across the
counter and removed money from the drawer and fled. The suspect didn't show a weapon in
either robbery. Keefer is back in court March 8th.
