Gay Marriage Bill Moves Closer to Passage

A bill to approve gay marriage in Illinois, co sponsored by Peoria State Senator Dave Koehler, is
moving closer to passage in Illinois Senate. The bill is now set for a final vote February 13th. The
controversial legislation gives marital rights to same sex couples. There is a provision in the
legislation making it clear that places of worship don't have to open their doors to gay marriage
ceremonies.
