PEORIA- Governor Pat Quinn was in East Peoria Thursday to announce 10 new jobs at a local small business.
Quinn spoke at Endotronix, a company that manufactures medical devices. It is expanding to develop a sensor that will help prevent congestive heart failure. With that expansion will come those ten new jobs.
Endotronix is one of three small Illinois manufacturers getting state investment packages. In total there are 75 new jobs across the state because of this initiative.
Quinn said help from the state will help these companies get even bigger and in turn keep hiring.
"Well the job creators by and large in Illinois are smaller businesses, often times they're very small. When they grow sometimes from three to four employees to 14 to 15 employees, that's significant growth," Quinn said.
Part of the state's investment package includes leveraging federal funding to attract millions of dollars in private sector investments. Also, if companies hire, they get corporate income tax credits to spur growth.
