First United Methodist Tops Off New Addition

PEORIA - First United Methodist Church is getting closer to completing its new addition.
The church held a topping of ceremony, placing a flag atop its new structure.
The multimillion dollar project includes a renovated education center as well as accommodations for the church's growing worship services. The new addition is also providing space for community events and the Loaves and Fishes soup kitchen.
First United Methodist says the project will benefit community. The church's pastor says he hopes construction can be finished later this year or early in 2014.
