NORMAL- A big dose of South American culture is sweeping the campus of Illinois State University.
ISU is hosting a group of Brazilian teachers hoping to improve their English.
Turns out these educators actually teach the language to high school students back home.
While in Normal they're taking part in training courses to improve their professional development skills.
They're participating in classes, grammar workshops, and traveling to places like Chicago to understand the culture.
Catarine Cardoso is amazed by sights she's seen in Illinois.
"Where I come from, it's too hot. I have never seen the snow, and it's because you have snow here, and everything is magic and wonderful to see here," said Cardoso. "Everything is different in Brazil."
ISU is one of only 18 universities in the nation to host the teachers through a program co-sponsored by the Institute of International Education.
The group heads home later this month.
