Average retail gas prices in Peoria soared again last week, up 19.7 cents per gallon, according
to a survey released Monday by GasBuddy. This compares with the national average
that has increased 14.4 cents per gallon in the last week. Prices were 12.3 cents per gallon
higher than a year ago and 36.6 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. Senior Petroleum
Analyst Patrick DeHaan says prices have ticked higher as rising oil prices have put upward
pressure on gasoline prices.
