Pekin Man In Jail For Robberies

PEORIA
- A Pekin man is in jail following two separate robberies on Saturday night.
Peoria
Police said 23-year-old Brian Cornwell, Jr. tried to steal a woman's purse as
she was leaving the Civic Center around 9:00 p.m.
The
victim's husband chased Cornwell down and was able to retrieve his wife's
purse.
After taking Cornwell into custody,
police said they found a pink cell phone in his possession.
They said he stole that phone from another
victim earlier that evening.
Cornwell is being charged with attempted
robbery, theft and possession of stolen property.
