The Midwest Truckers Association kicked off their 51st Annual Convention and Truck Show Friday. It's the 10th year the event has been hosted in the River City. Thousands are expected to head to the Civic Center to see displays of the newest tractors, trailers, engines, parts, and accessories. There's even truck beauty contests and toy truck derbys. Organizers say the convention isn't just for trucks.
Don Schaefer of the Midwest Truckers Association says, "You have got construction companies that have trucks, you've got dry cleaners, you've got you name the business. If they need to move goods and services they have to move it with a truck. So this is geared toward everybody who operates trucks not just a truck driver."
Admission in to the convention is free, but you have to print a ticket at midwesttruckers.com. If you missed the show today you can catch it tomorrow from 9-4 at the Civic Center.
