A former San Jose treasurer was sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty to stealing more than14
thousand dollars from the village over a year's period. Melanie Blair was sentenced to jail and 30
months probation but court officials say she won't have to serve any jail time if she complies with
conditions of her probation. She must also repay the village the money she took. Blair was
arrested after state police say they were called to investigate after a village audit discovered
something suspicious.
