Peoria Woman Indicted for Attempted Holdup

PEORIA- A Peoria woman, arrested in connection with a weekend attempted armed robbery,was
indicted Tuesday. 26 year old Jamesa Williams is charged with attempted armed robbery
and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. Those charges stem from a Sunday evening
holdup attempt of Lincoln Food Mart on January 20th. Police claim Williams entered the store about six p.m. with a shotgun, aimed the gun at an employee but a second employee emerged from a
bathroom and wrestled away the weapon and held her until police arrived. Williams bond remains
at 100 thousand dollars and she will be back in court Thursday.
