A swift moving, two alarm fire in Normal left a family homeless Thursday and caused an estimated
85,000 dollars. Normal firemen responded to 19 Payne Place after neighbors saw flames
coming from the back of the home and heavy smoke. Firemen had the blaze under control
within 25 minutes but remained for an hour to hit hot spots. The home is considered a total loss.
No word yet on the cause of that costly fire.
