BLOOMINGTON - A Bloomington
mayoral candidate says he's doing something that no candidate has done before
him.
Candidate Tari Renner
greeted supporters at the grand opening of his campaign headquarters.
It's located in the 400
block of Main Street in downtown Bloomington. His campaign says it's the first
time in city history that a mayoral candidate has opened a campaign
headquarters.
Renner says the
location represents how he would run office: open, visible and available.
"If people want
information they can come by. They can stop in and talk to me, and it also
makes us all more productive," he said. "Our volunteers can meet here. It's a
place to gather. So I think for all kinds of reasons having a central location
is good for us."
The headquarters are
open weekday evenings from 4 - 7 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends.
Renner is running
against John Hanson and Lex Green.
The election is April 9th.
