PEORIA- You can file your taxes now, but expect a delay on that refund.
The IRS has delayed the start of the 20-12 tax filing season for most taxpayers until January 30th. Further delays could go into February or March for people who are filing residential energy credits, depreciation of property or general business credits.

William Sharpe, the president of Total Income Tax said that there are a lot of people who depend on their tax refund, who are left not knowing when they'll see that money.
"You know, you receive lets say, 5 to 6-thousand dollars if you're in the working class and a lot of folks, they don't have a dryer or they have an expensive car repair and that's what they're waiting on," Sharpe said.
Those two to three weeks might make a big difference in peoples budgets, some could see their returns as delayed as late February.
