Peoria Woman Charged in Attempted Holdup

PEORIA- A Peoria woman, arrested in connection with a weekend attempted armed robbery
was formally charged Tuesday. 26 year old Jamesa Williams is charged with armed robbery
and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. Those charges stem from a Sunday evening
robbery attempt of Lincoln Food Mart. Police claim Williams entered the store with a shotgun,aimed
at an employee near the cash register. A second employee came out of the bathroom and
wrestled the weapon away from the suspect and held her until police arrived. Williams bond was
set at 100 thousand dollars.
