PEKIN- Police are investigating a robbery that happened Tuesday afternoon at the Heartland Bank in Pekin.

Pekin police got the call just before noon and say the suspect is a male in his twenties or thirties.

They say he was wearing a dark colored stocking cap with a blue shirt and many layers.

"Came in, displayed a note demanding money. He then actually reaches across the counter, removes some money from a drawer then he leaves on foot. Heading back west bound on Court Street," said Pekin Police Officer Don Jolly.

Jolly said because of the freezing temperatures, he thinks the suspect may have gotten into a car. Jolly says they aren't sure yet how much money he took.
