PEORIA - Patients at the Children's Hospital of Illinois had some special visitors today.
Some Peoria Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals players stopped by with Cardinals' mascot Fredbird to help boost their spirits.
One young fan was particularly thrilled to see a piece of World Series memorabilia the players brought along from their 2011 victory, the ring.
"Most of my classmates are Cardinals fans. So, they're going to be a little jealous if they find out. I've heard of it, I've seen it, never thought I'd actually feel it, touch it or hold it," said Hunter Zeriau.
This baseball season marks a reunion of sorts between the St. Louis and Peoria organizations as the Chiefs will be affilliated with the Cardinals for the first time since 2004.
