PEORIA - A non-profit organization is working to create more arts and science programs for local children.
The Sun Foundation is hoping to raise more than seven thousand dollars to support its children's activities.
These range from music lessons, to biology, and the environment.
Saturday night, it held its annual Winter Warming celebration at the Peoria Riverfront Museum.
The evening filled with fine foods, wine, and craft beer brought many out to support the cause.
Executive Director Bob Ericksen said, "This is our opportunity to invite the community to share an evening of food, brews, and wine, and at the same time, benefit those kids who need and support for the art and science programs that we do."
The Sun Foundation has been in the Peoria area for forty years.
