LIVINGSTON COUNTY- A 30-year-old cold case in rural Pontiac is heating up again.

The Livingston County Board approved more than $23,000 in funding Thursday night to help authorities solve a 1983 murder.

Joseph Sinnot Edwards is accused of shooting his adoptive parents to death in rural Pontiac.
The sheriff's department says he's presumably on the run and still wanted for the murders.

In 1998 authorities collected physical evidence like shell casings and nail clippings, but a lack of technology hindered the investigation.

Tonight's funding will be used to pay for advanced testing at a private crime lab in Vernon Hills.
