Peoria Airport Sets Passenger Record

Peoria's General Wayne Downing International Airport set a new passenger record for the
past year. A total of 580,530 arriving and departing passengers used the airport in 2012. That total
represents a 13 percent increase and surpasses the old record by over 2 and a half percent.
Peoria Airport Director Gene Olson says two reasons are credited for the airport's success: new
service to Atlanta and Punta Gorda/Fort Myers and the new terminal building.
