EAST PEORIA
-- Easter Seals is kicking off its VIP fundraising campaign with a luncheon and
guest speaker.
Easter
Seals said the event is a rally for donors as they gear up for the March telethon.
Its goal this year is $1.2 million.
Paralympic
athlete and special guest Josh George said his goal is to get people motivated
about giving.
"Easter
Seals helps people with disabilities find their normalcy. They help them find
ways to do things they otherwise wouldn't be able to do and to achieve things
they didn't think were possible to achieve and to lead happy, healthy, normal
lives just like everyone else has the opportunity to lead," George said.
The
telethon will be broadcasted on WMBD 31 on Saturday, March 2.
