DANVERS -
People in Danvers are coming together for a breakfast benefit. It's how they're
taking action for their fire department.
The
department held its annual pancake and sausage breakfast fundraiser on Sunday.
The all-you-can-eat breakfast is five dollars for adults and three dollars for
kids.
The
department relies solely on 30 volunteer firefighters. Chief Glenn Rosecrans
said the money raised will help pay for extra expenses throughout the year. He
said, "We use this money toward buying any special tools you want. We bought a
thermal camera one year, we bought ice rescue suits another year. So it goes
toward special projects we have that firefighters want to buy that's not in the
normal budget."
The
breakfast attracted more than 300 people. It's one of the two annual
fundraisers for the department.
