You've been upgraded! That's if you're flying south out of Central Illinois' Regional Airport in Bloomington. Delta is upgrading planes used for flights to Atlanta.
Right now, 65 passengers can fit on a flight. On the new airbus 319, it will increase to more than 120 passengers. CIRA says you can expect to see the bigger planes on March 2nd. And they're excited for the local boost.
CIRA Marketing Director Fran Strebing says, "We know in the airline industry there is going to be less of the smaller jet flying and more of larger aircraft flying. The fact that we're starting to see them already is very encouraging. It means we are going to be serving more people out of Central Illinois."
CIRA recently upgraded to bigger planes for flights to Denver, Colorado too.
