Two men were formally charged Friday with kidnapping and beating an elderly man. One of the suspects was being mentored through Peoria's Don't Shoot program. 30 year old Jerome Jones and
18 year old Jarvis Logan are both charged with aggravated kidnapping and armed robbery. Jones
was seeking help from Peoria's Don't Shoot program. He was on parole from a 2011 drug conviction.
Police say the pair kidnapped an older man January 5th and took him to a home on Widenham.
Their pair allegedly bound and beat him who later escaped. Jones bond was set at a half million
dollars while Logan's bond was set at a quarter million dollars. The cases will most likely be heard
before a grand jury.
