Mans best friend is helping shy students learn to conquer their fears when it comes to reading in the classroom.
Shelly Cunningham and her dog Cheska met with students at the Pekin Public Library Friday evening.
Cheska is a Golden Retriever that will sit and listen to students read.
The goal of the reading session is to teach students that reading can be fun and not as frightening as it seems.
