PEORIA- Congressman Aaron Schock visited a government class at Richwoods High School where he once walked the halls as a student himself.

Schock talked to students about politics among other things, something a lot of people are concerned about now that the countdown has restarted for a deal on the fiscal cliff.

Schock voted for the recently passed deal.

Now congress has two months to agree on another solution to the country's spending problems. Although there are still issues on the table, Schock said the bill that already passed did make progress.
"I think this bill represented the best we could do on the tax policy. It makes permanent 99 percent of the 2001 and 2003 tax rates permanently," Schock said.

Schock said he's going to push to have a new deal before the deadline. But just like last time, lawmakers could still be debating down to the last minute.
