New Japanese Restaurant Opens

PEORIA- Peoria welcomed its latest restaurant into town Wednesday.
Dozens of guests watched the ribbon cutting at the new Hokkaido restaurant on North University Street. The restaurant will serve hibachi as well as sushi and other Japanese food.
People stopped by Wednesday to get a sneak peak inside the newly renovated interior and try a few food samples. The Peoria Chamber of Commerce Director of Sales, Scott Leas, said it's a great addition to the business community.
"With new restaurants come new growth and it attracts new people, attracts new business and we're really happy to see that growth," Leas said.
The restaurant is now open for business.
