CHILLICOTHE- Chillicothe is still waiting for a permanant ambulance service.
Rescue 33's ambulance license was suspended in September. It was a free service for people in Chillicothe, but AMT has since taken over temporarily.
Chillicothe's mayor said he's waiting for a proposal from AMT to decide who stays. He said rescue 33 has already turned in a proposal.
The mayor said he doesn't feel qualified to chose which service is better, and thinks the Peoria Area EMS Medical Director should decide. But the EMS Director said she doesn't have the authority to do that.
The mayor says there is no deadline to choose, but he hopes to make a decision before he leaves office in May.
