PEORIA- A huge shock came at the Lariat steakhouse when a car crashed through it's front entrance Friday night.
Police say 33-year-old Caroline Borden left the restaurant and got in her car. They say she thought her car was in drive, but instead it was in reverse and she backed into the building around 11:30 p.m. Police say she told them her feet got tangled in the peddles.
The front entrance now boarded up and off limits, it was remodeled less than a year ago. Saturday construction workers picked up glass and debris from the parking lot.
"Most important thing is no one was hurt. It didn't happen during prime hours and even the driver of the vehicle was unhurt, unharmed," said owner Ken Kouri.
Kouri said the Lariat is staying open. Borden and a passenger are not hurt, but police charged her with a DUI.
