A Peoria man faces possible prison time after a jury Friday found him guilty of being a felon in possession of a weapon. However, Julius Mudd was acquitted of the more serious charges of attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm. Those charges stem from the New Year's Eve 2011 shooting of Marcus Haywood. Mudd claimed he feared for his life when he shot Haywood, claiming Haywood pulled a gun on him. Prosecutors challenged that claim. Mudd will be sentenced February 8th.
