A Washington family is homeless tonight after a fire destroyed their home. Hours after it started firefighters continued to battle the blaze. It happened in the 100 block of Esken Court around 3:30 this afternoon. Firefighters say the fire most likely started in the garage. Multiple crews responded including Northern Tazewell, Washington, and Germantown Hills.Washington Fire Chief Mark Vaughn says the location of the fire is tricky because of a full garage.

"We put hose lines on it from the exterior, then we tried to go inside. As you can see, the roof is sagging real bad, so we pulled the guys out. We are hitting it from the exterior right now. There seems to be a large amount of material in that garage type area. We are pulling that out, trying to get to the seed of the fire."

Firefighters say no one was injured but the cause is under investigation.
