NORMAL- The art of a local Girl Scout is in the national spotlight.
High school freshman Amanda Breeden designed a picture for a nationwide contest called "Dear Mr. President."
Entries centered on issues important to America's youth.
Breeden's artwork focused on equality.
She says it is important for U.S. leaders to value others regardless of their religion, ability or sexual orientation.
Her win included a trip to Washington D.C. where she took part in a public service announcement.
"We got to go to a recording studio and do voice overs. That was really interesting," said Breeden. "I'd never been to one of those before. So overall, it was a really exciting experience. I was glad I was able to do that."
Breeden's PSA is set to air nationwide after President Barack Obama is sworn in this month.
