PEORIA - As the temperatures dip below 32 degrees, frozen pipes are always a concern.
Home Depot said it's better to be safe than sorry. There are several items that can help.
It suggests using heating cables, heating tape or Styrofoam insulators.
Employee Marlene Piltaver said these items can range from one to forty dollars. "This is rather inexpensive. These are four to five dollars and these Styrofoam insulations are about one to two dollars a piece."
Another cheap fix try using a hair dryer to warm up your pipes or let a small stream of water run to prevent them from freezing.
